88% versus 59%. Quite a gap. So, it's now official. It's been apparent for some time, but now it's official. While PIs may have their problems, there's nelf and.......... what is it that comes second?? Crix, 3X daily? Rit capsules? Saq? Abbott, Merck and Glaxo..... I've been saying, in public and very loudly since Spring '95, that Agouron was going to polish your butts. Given this, I'm allowed the following commentary..... Merck, you did well.... you saved lives and your scientists made heroic efforts to make a dent in this disease. You came up with a molecule that didn't quite cut it, but there are many patients alive today that serve as a tribute to your efforts. Abbott..... you didn't get your butt polished, you got it blown away. What a "tail between your legs" effort! It wouldn't be too bad except for the bravado that you used to capture your piddly market share. Glaxo...... you look really foolish. "Second generation" my ass.
