Good site, Randy. Thanks. Xing is another example of a video streaming software company that had been rumored as a possible AXC acquisition months ago. And of course all sign posts presently point to an explosion of visual storage needs on the web and elsewhere in the next few years.
Took a moderate flyer on a company called ATEC last week. They have managed to grow sales rapidly using a humble technique - brochures. I truly hope AXC uses some of their money ( which seems to be mainly serving as a luxurious safety net right now) to carpet bomb every government and state agency and cable company and semi large corporation and university and hospital or medical imaging center etc. etc. with brochures describing the genuine excellence and capacity of their DST and DIS line. So when that day comes when suddenly they need storage amounts they had hardly ever even imagined before, they will know what the DST can do and will remember the name of Ampex. DSTs sure beats stacking DLTs through the ceiling.
As an aside, two market elements that my power investor toy stays up to date with are current prices and updated 52 week highs. So took quick look at market of stocks rather than the stock market. As of the close of Friday's trading - of the 11,185 stocks in the data base - 64% were 20% or more off their 52 week highs. 52% were 30% or more off. 41% were 40% or more off. 31% - 50% or more. 22% - 60% or more down. 14% - 70% or more. 8% - 80% or more. Sure looks like a bear broadside. I share the often mentioned view that after tax loss selling season this year, there will be an astonishing number of remarkable small and midcap bargains out there for patient investors to choose from.
