I'm not necessarily calling upon you to justify yourself. But it is interesting to me that I have found more than a few Clinton supporters (and Pro-choicers, by some odd coincidence) who disclaim any prior support of Anita Hill and her case against Thomas.
re Why this one-up-manship, this zero-sum game playing. this constant need to "win" this point or that? Why so combative, in other words? I like to share ideas with other people, not to wage war on them..
I guess I just believe in fair play. I heartily dislike much of Clinton's politics. I freely admit that. But must I remind you that the Democrats don't much care for Republican politics either, and they give no quarter: Witness the full-scale assault on Newt Gingrich that we saw in prior years: He was hounded to death for holding some kind of politically oriented class, paid for by something that was somehow deemed illegal. Nobody can probably even remember or understand exactly which letter of the law he broke, but by gum, it was nearly treasonous at the time, and it came down to squabbling about how he would pay the fine.
The bottom line here is that the Dems have never played anything less than all-out hardball, and so I have no idea why Dems expect any kind of mercy from Republicans now. The Dems have never been interested in being anybody's friend, except those that promote the pure liberal agenda as espoused by the mainstream elite media and the feminists.
Furthermore, I am a conservate, fundamentalist Christian, and so I am singled out for particular abuse. Yes, I can take it, usually. But I have my own beliefs, which include the idea that partial birth abortions are wrong, except to save the life of the mother. I will continue to fight for that belief, and right now Mr. Clinton is in my way. So, no mercy. Let's get on with the impeachment hearings, and get this guy out of there if it can be legally done. |
