Hi scott,
Re: Intel Opens Austin Development Center
I've known for a while that Zyvex ( zyvex.com ) was located in Richardson, but I don't know Texas. So to get my bearings I went to excite.com and clicked on Maps and Directions, and found that Austin's about 4 and a half hours away (Richardson's about a half hour north of Dallas).
I was thinking perhaps these "undetermined future products" might have something to do with nanotechnology, which is why I looked to see how far apart they were. 4 1/2 hours is quite a ways, so there's probably no link. 'Course, Intel would be foolish not to be investing in it...
But the only results of a search were 2 documents, both of which were the same article about a photo-journalist; the nanotechnology was mostly mentioned in passing. (I'd copy the search results page, but it made the window stretch way over to the right in preview; go to intel.com, click on search and enter "nanotechnology".)
Hopefully, the Foresight Institute is banging down Intel's door -- they need to hear about it, as it means the fastest chips possible.
Enjoy, KenB |
