I really don't know if I would have done the same. To protect me I wouldn't lie. To protect others from harm caused by my action I might very well lie big time. Sorta depends on how selfish you are and how much damage may be caused. "And he has clearly put his own selfish and petty personal interests before those of the country." Do you know many politicians who do not?
