Linux International president John Hall (whose day job is as a Digital Unix technical marketing manager at Compaq), believes the potential is there. "What NetWinder gives you is a very robust OS," he said. "If you just put a Web browser in front of it and a few simple commands, it's very usable in a client-server environment."
