Achilles,

The Founding Fathers (the guys who wrote the U.S.
Constitution) intentionally left the wording of
impeachable offenses vague because they knew that
there would be no way they could predict what could
be considered a "high crime, or misdemeanor" in the
future. The fact of the matter is that impeachable
offense could include anything from murder to sleeping
on the job. The only guy who was ever tried in the
Senate for removal from the Office of President was
Andrew Johnson. He was tried simply because he fired
his Secretary of War (now Sec of Defense), hardly what
we would call a crime today.
