Dear Mr. Scrapps:
Zoom plans to make an announcement soon about what 56k technology the company will use; however, as you know, Zoom has a close relationship with Rockwell.
Initially, the upgrade will be hardware; 28.8 and 33.6 modems may be exchanged for the 56k board. Later in 1997, the upgrade will be done through software.
As to exact date of availability and cost of upgrade, the details are not available yet. To our knowledge, US Robotics has not announced cost of the upgrade either.
Thank you for your interest in Zoom, and Happy Holidays to you!
