Michael, dont you know ufi was an IBM term, they used it on R* I think.... thats why Oracle used it. A lot of the IBM relational database products never shipped, my guess is ufi was one of those - an internal name used by IBM - that wound up the default product name for query tools that vendors actually did ship - one other company, Ingres I think had a ufi.

The other term that came from IBM that I still laugh about is "BROWSE" mode.

Im dating myself sheesh.
