Maybe the shorts are playing games again and trying to entice a little more money into the stock so they can drive back down again.

And how might they be doing that? Certainly the company itself is being totally silent so the shorts have no claim of their classic 'pump and dump' mantra.

I suspect that the shorts realize that FDA approval is around the corner and that when approval is announced BTIM will move ahead. Plain and simple. BTIM appears to have found a bottom and with nearly 20% of the shares short (just a guess but based on historical levels) short players may be feeling that their market is about over in BTIM.
