I can't name names without violating client confidentiality, but I think some of the biggest and OLDEST companies may have the biggest problems. Inertia, ancient software, oldtimers who knoew it byte by byte all gone, reduced staffs to cut costs. DC hosts a bunch of huge telecom companies and at least a couple of them are in trouble. I think the small mobile companies have a big edge getting this job done. Most of my work is done at large clients, so that is most of my perspective. I do know one small company that just started to get serious. Their estimates for time and labor, and the antiquity of their hardware and hardware are going to make it a nightmare. That's just the cost! Ironically, Social Security in Baltimore, which is almost a synonym for monolithic beaurocracy, started Y2K years ago and is in great shape. Maybe even done at this point.

Be sure and go before 1/1 early to withdraw your money from the bank, because the computer in your car may shut down too. LOL
