Mike,

All our 6x86 systems at office and home have been running rock stable. I would suspect that you are encountering improper heat dismissing problem. Please do the following steps to correct the system instability :

1. Case: Do your case has proper air circulation design that allows enough outside cold air to pass the CPU heatsink fan? If not, change another better case.

2. CPU heatsink fan: Do you use the original Cyrix CPU heatsink fan or an even better one? If not, get one!

3. Heat Compound: Did you use heat compound? Did you apply them evenly between CPU and heatsink? If not sure, go to Radio Shock and buy one to apply evenly.

4. Motherboard: What motherboard are you using? Certified by Cyrix? Some motherboards run extremely hot with Cyrix 6x86 and could cause system lockup. One of the solutions is to have a 3" fan blow against the regulator heatsinks and CPU heatsink.

Let me know if these suggestions help.
