Clinton Mislead Cabinet About Ending His Lying Streak

WASHINGTON, DC - Members of Clinton's cabinet are expressing feelings of outrage and betrayal after it became apparent that the President had mislead them into believing that he was about to end his lying streak. Said one cabinet member, "Earlier this week the President told us that he was inspired by the dignity and reverence that accompanied Cal Ripkin's decision to end his consecutive game streak. Clinton told us that he had thought long and hard, and that it was now time for him to end his lying streak. We all felt relieved and told him that he had made the right decision. He assured us that he would tell the truth sometime before the end of the week. But as the week drew to a close and he hadn't once told the truth, we knew that we had been lied to."

President Clinton holds the record for "The Most Consecutive Days Without Telling the Truth by a Head-of-State". His streak officially began the moment that he was sworn-in as President and has lasted over 2036 days. Said one White House staffer, "If they included the days that Clinton was Governor of Arkansas then his streak would be well over 5000 days."
