Doug -- my guess is that daddycool was pulling your leg about the use of "I think."

In my opinion (and perhaps in his), the more "I thinks" in posts like this the better -- literary finesse be damned. At least, you are making it clear that you are simply voicing your opinion, not trying to pass it off as fact. When discussing something so contentious as politics in a forum like this, I am all for the generous use of qualifiers like "I think," "possibly," "perhaps," "maybe," "it seems," "it may be," etc., etc.
