No idea... Bateman, most hedge funds specialize in trading derivatives and index options. But to answer your question, I have no idea what % of shares short is placed by hedge funds. Of course, if they did and had to liquidate, they could hardly buy to cover, because they would need cash to cover!! I do know for a fact that Bill Fleckenstein Capital is very short AMZN...and Dell and INTC. DocStone
