For those who are into the history of it all... see this AT&T L4 Coaxial Carrier System Plant Layout, complete with a hardened site. Some day, probably much sooner than we think, relatively speaking, our new fangled DWDM gizmos will look amazingly similar to these older technologies. Anyone out there remember the L4? How about the C-Carrier? J-Carrier? K? L? N? N1? N2? N3? O? ON? R? etc?
