If you understand the Alpha 21264 you understand why the K7 is the fastest X86 CPU in the world. If you don't know who Atiq is he was the CEO of Nexgen and currently the Chief Technical Officer of AMD. Unlike Jerry Sanders he is very technical and understands all aspect of CPU designing and implementation. He is the mastermind behind the NX586, K6, K6-2, and K7.
