You're absolutely correct on the heat issue Alomex. That is the reason heat sinks are made of metal and have fins. The greater surface area increases the transfer rate to the surrounding air. Heat does not build up. Plastic, on the other hand, is heat insulative. It is a strong lite case material suitable for laptops with slower heat engines.

Incidentally, that excess heat that must be drained off comes at an energy penalty. The design of these laptops would allow roughly a 10% to 20% increase in battery life if they were using a Power PC processor instead of the "Intel inside."
