Phil,
Sometimes we forget that the analysts are focused on the long term investor, sometimes to the exclusion of short term fluctuations. Those "conservative approach" analysts will ignore Apple's iMac success in the belief that any such appreciation will be a short lived bubble.
It will, however, give them pause to take another look at the long term prospects for the company. A possibility exists that an enlightened analyst might change their outlook with an upgrade for AAPL in light of the copper/SOI and OS X futures leverage for 1999.
*** OFF ** TOPIC *** While I've got you listening, perhaps you can clarify something for me. I've been following the thinly traded IBIS with Quote.com's Live!Quote and with Datek's instant quote. At one point this morning, Datek showed the volume (instant) at 1,500 while Live!Quote had at least 4,200 in volume still showing on the tracker. What gives? Currently: Datek = 1,900 and Live!Quote = 4,400 showing (oldest is at 9:51 est)
Another question is that the last on Datek will be an older trade between the bid and the ask, even though several higher trades have gone through at the ask. What's up with that?
Anyone know what is happening here? It's not just this one stock either. I noticed the same thing with AAPL before, when I was paying for Live!Quote's Instant quote package.
Thanks in advance, HerbVic |
