Shares of CBS (CBS) fell 2 3/4 to 23, or 10 percent, Tuesday morning after Morgan Stanley Dean Witter analyst Frank Bodenchak lowered his earnings estimates on the company. Bodenchak was unavailable for comment.

The company has pledged to eliminate about 200 jobs as part of an effort to stop rising costs and signal investors that it's doing everything it can do to boost earnings. In July, CBS posted second-quarter results that fell short of Wall Street expectations; since then, the stock has dropped from 33 to its current price of 25 3/4.
