Stitch, I almost started that posting with "Is this the same Diskcon we attended?"

Elements of what they said are true and depending on who you talk to I think things are going to improve. Ion Systems for example will probably have a good year as customers change the products they make and have to do more to protect against ESD.

Basically some equipment vendors will be very happy to see the changes that are pushing higher areal density.

Still, I think if you read what they say in the article it is pretty acurate;

- Unit growth, but not revenue growth
- Seasonal spurt
- Some equipment sales will do better
- Market share has adjusted

No, I'd say they didn't listen to the analysts. I'm not sure what they said anyway. These analysts seemed to think they could have a discussion on how HDD managers should run their business. Interesting views, but they didn't make any stock predictions. While it was interesting to hear their predictions about digital cameras or whatever, they sure didn't show much balls for saying where the market would go and who would lead or lag.
