This would be like the highway taxes - they're not voluntary; if you drive on the roads you pay the tax.(Can you imagine if they were voluntary? That's about how primitive the system we use for car insurance is.)

Construction is bid out to private companies. The only thing public is bidding oversight, standards, and revenue collection. I would't guess it costs much at all to collect the highway taxes at the pump. Two people and two puters? Shouldn't, anyway.

Where do you spend the money on a pollution or CO2 tax? Not that I don't agree.

Why ins cos don't go after uninsureds, as well as other inefficiencies in the current system, are not known to me. But why bother with going after them? Just collect the money in the most efficient, involuntary way possible. Why hassle with all of it? Thousands of losers every six months? Yeesh!!! You want the job?

When pressures are put in the right places for cost control, with the rewards going to the private provider, you get work for your money.
The Post Office contracts for moving it's mail. And ya gotta buy stamps. Privatization of the revenue collection for that would be pepto dismal. But we'd have Spice Girl stamps, probly.

Toll booths aren't voluntary. You can't get on the bridge. But you can get on the highway, uninsured, and bash into ~ and UPSET ~ Mizz Penni.

No bills to mail and 10 cents more a gallon for good insurance? And to have all those assholes covered? And paying? Heck yah, I'd do it. And put Alex on the actuarial oversight committee. Free beer and chauffeurs.
