Hi Ann,
You must be busier than a one-armed paper hanger, or a one-legged man at an a** kicking contest! Where ya been? I hope everything is OK with you and the young family.
I'm happy today because the Red Sox crushed the Indians in their first playoff game. Mo hit two homers, Nomar one and Pedro pitched great. Well, maybe that's talk only New Englanders or ex's of same care about. Also, Intel up and AMD down. Life is good! Speaking of AMD, all hell broke loose over there at SI AMD today about their >333MHz K6-2 bug. Seems you get a "Windows Exception" when you try to boot. Needless to say, the Intellabees and AMDites are all over each other like a cheap suit.
Sonny, if you're reading, there's a new guy there, calls himself Dr. "firstname secondname" something, who has the best doubletalk I've seen in years, like Casey Stengel or Yogi Berra caliber. I asked him if he isn't really Dr. Irwin Corey. Remember him from the Sid Caesar show? Notice that I have to ask an "experienced, or seasoned" guy, like me (didn't want to say an old guy) <GG>.
Was Intel's strength today window dressing? I hope not. An article came to light in EE Times about Merced, gave some architectural details (it's a mainframe on a chip), and Dr. Barrett said it's on schedule. Good stuff.
For a fleeting nanosecond or two, I thought of considering buying some of my Son's At Home. Well, not his shares, but over the counter. It passed. Probably should have listened to myself and bought it.
