Let me see. TV/COM now uses Divicom encoders. TV/COM sells encoders in China. Na, can't be. Just old inventory that TV/COM is unloading. Maybe Divi :-)..................................

BEIJING: TV/COM wins major contract for television network in China

Key points:
Shanghai VSAT is launching its first private business television network in China
Shanghai VSAT will broadcast in more than 100 locations across China

TV/COM Intl Inc., a leading provider of global digital communications solutions for the direct-to-home, cable, and terrestrial markets, has been awarded a contract by Shanghai VSAT Network Systems Co. Ltd, which is launching its first private business television network in China.

Shanghai VSAT, a teleport service provider of private video and audio channels, will use the TV/COM single-channel MPEG-2 DVB encoding system to broadcast conferences, meetings and training programs to an organization with employees in more than 100 locations across China.

TV/COM is configuring the system to encode and then deliver digital video and CD-quality audio services from the organization's headquarters in Shanghai via a high-speed E1 telecom line to a remote satellite station outside Shanghai. From there, the digital stream will be uplinked to a satellite and then delivered to a closed-loop private network. TV/COM, as the system integrator, is also providing the digital compression system, digital set-top boxes, and ultimately its conditional access system.

Shanghai VSAT will handle the uplink and deliver the video and audio to the organization, which has previously relied on Shanghai VSAT to deliver voice and data to its locations. In addition, TV/COM's strategic partner in China, Mascon Inc., a multinational marketer of high-technology products and equipment for the Asian market, is providing installation and after-sales support services.
