A 1/4 point is no big deal, but as marty zweig says,"don't fight the interest rate trend". This reversal of interest rate trend is the main point - that will take time to confirm.Espeacially if we are waiting on the FOMC, which is the classic lagging indicator.

The fed has been reactive to the market not proactive. There market place leadership has been intentionally slow. When the market confirms - it they announce it , and always lag to the conservative side. This posture assures a maximum point spread which ensures the health of their constituency.I am baffled why this group of bankers serving a larger group of bankers is hidden under the false pretense of "independent" - to politicians perhaps - Thank goodness. They bow to the fellow bankers who create fiat money by their constitutional ?? given charter.

They are dumb as a fox, when it comes to being prudent and anti-inflationary. IMHO
