I agree that he could use his option slips as that is how the big houses that underwrite stock cover themselves when they short a stock they brought to market. My point is that I have worked for three different large publically traded corps that had me sign "code of conduct" letters and they all said the same thing due to securities regulations it is illegal toi short sell or conduct similar trading activity in the company;s stock(s) i have never confirmed this. Intersting discussion that gtr seems on top of. As with my HDD/Pezim investigations, there is lots of info available as our laws require a lot of disclosure but wading through it and piecing it together is often the only way to get the entire picture or at least a better picture. I would like to see somebody tackle crosslinking all of the companies past and present, their directors, etc. We will find that the group is very small and the rish keep getting richer at our expense. the internet, Sedar, Stockwatch etc etc are small pieces of the puzzle that is helping to level the playing field.
