Hope your stocks recover tomorrow. Especially those which I also own. :-)

Me, too.

BTW, I heard on CNBC that several Canadian banks were lowering interest rates along with Greenspan. Does this mean the black cloud over Canadian stocks will lift? The correct answer is yes. :)

Now, totally off topic, you have to go see "Ronin," the new Robert de Niro/Jean Reno film. A parable posing as an action film, it's one of the most rewarding stories I've seen this year. It also has the longest chase scene and the most vivid surgery-without-anaesthetic sequence ever filmed.

Ronin were Samurai whose liege lords were killed by another and had to live out their lives in disgrace, a small bit of the story that comes out in an exchange between de Niro and a retired French agent who performs the non-standard surgery when he's on the run. A story of treachery and honor that leaves you exhausted but nourished in the end.

After the close, they indicated that they will meet current analyst's estimates and that 1999 isn't a problem. (According to CBC Newsworld)

When the market kills a stock unfairly, I have to ask myself why I put my faith in a system that's so totally insane.

Well, Ronin reaches towards an answer.

Night --

Pat
