It's going to take time and there are many difficulties. We'll see if management has what it takes to get this going because they simply are out of alternatives. The employees are ready to be led. They are tired of cutting capers. Such a venture would be a major challenge, but it's the kind of thing John Chambers at CSCO loves and it has all the potential of one of his ploys and it's the kind of thing that could really make this company go.

I hope we can get more thread denizens to sharpen the loose ends of the suggestion. NSCP already has this strategy on the drawing boards, but I suspect they are being diverted by the MSFT obsession. There's only one way to proceed. You sell a loser. You quit throwing resources at a net drag on income. There's no money in an immediate government declaration that MSFT is a hog. Does that save share? You have to roll your own to be viable. I would immediately quit all claims against MSFT and dissolve the action. You lose nothing by doing that except lawyer fees.

And, it is doubtful you'll lose any further share because when the public hears of such a thing, they'll show their loyalty. It takes faith and trust. Alien words to most, but they work. Give the public a fair shake and you write your own ticket. The shake here is a solid OS which handles peripherals but makes the browser the center piece of the interface. That's nothing new, but we could sure use one that is stable.
