From market report for Weds 30 September..

"The market experienced strong trading in Mayne Nickless who is a substantial shareholder in Optus.
Mayne Nickless rose as high as $9.30 due to news that shareholders will get 1.6 Optus shares at $1.85 each for ever one Mayne Nickless, later slipping back to $9.00 however still up $0.20.
Further to the Optus float, fellow shareholder Cable & Wireless will issue 375 million shares in a public float."
