I am selling my stock to buy it back lower on Friday.

Good luck. Seems to me that this is a screaming buy at these levels, but to each his own.

When I ran track in high school my coach used to ask us to visualize our races in anticipation of the actual event. We'd close our eyes and picture everything from the starting gun to the warm-down laps after the race.

Last night I caught myself doing a little visualization regarding the stocks I presently hold. I made the assumption that the rate of technological innovation is only going to increase over the next five years, and I tried to guess where and how my companies might play into that world. Needless to say, I can see Lucent, Oracle, and Media One Group doing quite nicely well into the next millennium. Why? Innovation, willingness to take risks, and sound management. All three of these companies are just plain aggressive (see Ellison), and I believe aggression is a main ingredient in the future success of any company.

So, sell now, if you must. As always, I can think of many other companies that I would be trading in right now before I toyed around with Lucent. Some folks just can't leave well enough alone.
