SA, >>>My educated guess is by far better than a simulation. I have been simulating 3-D
magnetofluid problems for 10 years and it does not need a rocket scientist to claim
the AMD timing problem that Microsoft has already solved needs the resources
you are referring to.<<<

Congratulations on your 10 years of 3-D magnetofluid problems simulation, but that seems like a far cry from a µP/software timing problem. With regard to your educated guess being far better than a simulation, I'll put my money on delay predictions and cycle time analysis based on simulation programs that have had years of test and validation against real hardware. Sure, sometimes educated guesses are used, but they are not as accurate and there aren't enough humans to guess on the millions of paths on a chip nowadays. The way it works is that current generation computers are used to run simulation programs on next generation chips and computers. Down the road, they become the current generation, and the next generation are run on them, and so on.

THE END, the dead horse is now quite deep.
