The logic is that just because yhoo appreciated so much in the last 2 years doesn't mean it cannot do it again. I'm not saying it will happen because I don't really know (and neither do you), but a lot of people (and I used to be among them not so long ago) would never buy a stock which appreciated great deal in the recent period saying it has no more room to grow, it's already so high that it can only go down, it's a perfect short, etc.

Absolutely, but the logic is exactly the same - just because it is expensive doesn't mean that it cannot get even more expensive.
