Tomato Man - OFF Topic -- re <I got the name from the local Jersey cops. I used to grow tomatoes behind my office. They discovered them the second year I planted them. The night cops would steal them for their sandwiches. One night I had a robbery in one of my stores and had to go to the station house. When the detective found out where I worked he said, "Holy S**T, you're the Tomato Man." He then walked me through the whole station house and introduced me to the everyone as the Tomato Man. Was assured by all the Men/Women in Blue that I grew the best stealin' tomatoes in town. The rest is history.> For those of you not from NY/NJ area ... the above is how we obtain police protection. In my hometown 85,000 people we couldn't get arrested, ticketed or whatever... We were related to everybody. Once we could have gotten into some minor problem, but when the sergent came he started beating one of us.... Then he said " You come with me, I'm taking you to your parents house." My friend said, " Oh then drive to your house, they are having dinner with your parents". The cop kept hitting him, so they told us to go home. :) BellBoy
