Excuse me for butting in, but the Johnson deficit was not caused by the Great Society programs but the frigging Vietnam War, which was the brainchild of the Truman cold warriors and begun by Eisenhower, and continued by Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. Where the hell were you?
