Good point. Darn!!

By the way, I meant to suggest to Addi that he look at VLSI subordinated convertible bonds. They pay 8.25%, due 10/01/05, no call, and were recently selling at 85--that's 850 per $1,000 bond. So at maturity, you get $150 per bond in addition to the interest.

IDTI also has convertible notes due 6/1/02, but they only pay 5.5%. I got some at 81.125 and now they're down around 76.

Now as long as these companies don't go broke, I'm all set. If they do, at least I'm ahead of the stockholders (ah! ha! ha! ha! [gallows laughter]).
