I left out of that prior post Q's best counter to this Ericy stategy. Q needs to get operators to start rolling out CDMA 2000 ASAP. That would change the bargaining positions enormously from the scenario I laid out in the post this responds to. It seems to me on reflection that operator allies in this battle against Ericy will be crucial. Qcom can't afford to just sit back and wait for the world to cave in. Some sweet deals for some early adopters would seem to be very much in Qcom's best interests. Doug
