Steve, what I'd really like to get your insight and knowledge on is this. And since you read (and post) such an incredible amount on Brazil, which I could never come close to keeping up with, it would be great to hear from you.

What do you think the prospects are for a real reduction in Brazil's levels of deficit spending, post the election? I'm assuming Cardozo wins in the first round. That remains likely, right?

But even if he does, can he get the legislature to accept pain if the IMF is riding right in with standby credit lines? Or are they going to in fact do nothing, as theStreet.com predicted in that article this am?

(All this still would not preclude a rally in tbr/h starting next week, I suppose, but would have a lot to do with how long it might last.)
