AAPL and MSFT went in different directions. AAPL wanted to do both stations and their own OS. MSFT concentrated on OS since they knew that there would be a glut of PC Makers, thus enabling them to concentrate and go further with the OS business. IBM is a different story - when you snooze you lose. So what in Yahoo is so unique that the other search engines/portal sites can't provide?
