If you think the thesis is wrong, then attack it.
I don't know that your thesis is right or wrong, it seems more like wishful thinking on your part, or perhaps a vision of the company you hope for. Are you saying that if Netscape has these items in their business plan then it's a worthwhile investment? What if they don't? I haven't seen anything published by the company to indicate that any of your action items are being actively pursued. It doesn't seem very prudent to me to make an investment in a company based upon something I hope they will do.
An exercise in number throwing is entirely useless.
Your posts allude to your thinking this company presently has good value. If you are a value investor from the Graham, Buffet, Gabelli, Lynch school of thought, I can assure you Netscape still doesn't have enough value to warrant an investment for anyone from the Graham school. Not quite beat up enough yet, still not a clear enough sense of direction from management, still not strong enough evidence the plan such that it is will work.
If you haven't learned that, you're a beginner in this business.
Not very productive to berate someone for asking you to substantiate your position. For many, long term investing in a company is about making a quantitative analysis of the company based upon the facts available, assessing management's business plan, and determining for yourself whether they can perform. Most people don't invest in visions. If you do fine, whatever floats your boat.
I'll never be accused of being anything but a Netscape fan. I really hope they pull it off, I love underdogs and beat up mutts. I've been trading this puppy since January. Bought and sold it four times now. Will it ever be a long term investment? Don't know. Jury's out. I'm waiting to see like the rest of the street.
Cheers -
