I agree for the most part. Problem is, I'm not partisan. I've never voted republican. I have not argued that his lies are more or less substantial that somebody else's. I've never cheered for Starr. I have always expressed my disappointment at having Bill lie to my face. I'm not comparing him or that event to another event or anyone else. His lying to me and expecting me to accept his redefinition of common sense is unacceptable, personally. It is not justified or validated by other people doing the wrong thing or wrongs I myself have committed. We all get tested by our enemies. Sometimes we don't do well. I am no exception. So, I am not concerned about the punitive stuff. It is my personal opinion that he personally should act to correct the situation. The only way I can see that working at the moment is for him to step out of the hot seat, do everything he can to honor the office of the presidency in the process, and move on. I would not see him as a loser. I know he could pull it off and gain a lot of respect and reposition himself as a leader in the process. There are lots of people who would martyr him over it. I'm not one, but I would regain some of my respect for him in the process. The office of Presidency is more important than his personal life. You know that there will continue to be dishonor to the Oval office as long as this continues. I'm not as sensitive to the "poor ol' Bill" scenario as people who are afraid of what political upheaval will occur when he's dismissed. It seems that's already happening and him digging his heals in is fueling it. I don't believe that with six million people on the planet we should feel stuck with Bill. This isn't a Kingdom, I do think the system can work if we get behind it and put our highest expectations on it. But then some of you are framing a bigger picture; one that doesn't work for me.
