Although there is a correlation, there is also a lead and lag time involved

JZ, I will agree that there is a lead and lag time between moves in the price of oil and moves in E&P, but stock prices anticipate future earnings. Is there is lead and lag time between changes in the price of oil and changes in stock prices? Sometimes it happens, but the charts run pretty close.

If you extrapolate the price of oil at the recent rate of increase over the past few weeks, it will cross $17 soon and perhaps $18 before the end of October. I think we're getting ready to see some action.

Best of luck,

Steve
