John:
I am new to this thread in that I have never posted on it before. I followed you for awhile on the "COFFEE SHOP" waiting for you to post your stock picks that would take you from 3M to 100M by 1-1-97. However, stopped following you after no picks were posted. Did note however, that you seemed to be a person quite taken with your own thinking and seemed somewhat intolerant to those that believe in and follow the teachings of God, as they are revealed in the Bible. The post I am responding appears to be an effort to incite those who profess to be Christians. I would like for you to consider the following:
You appear to believe there is no God. I believe there is one. Both of our beliefs are an act of FAITH. I cannot have you shake the literal hand of God because He is a spirit and therefore it appears you have drawn the conclusion that there is no God. However, on the same note you cannot present in concrete proof that there is no God. For almost 2,000 years many intellectuals have tried to do that. They have died and been forgotten about. Their efforts did not convince people that there is no God. Now then consider this. If you are right in the premise that there is no God. What have I lost by living the life of a Christian? When you and I both die we will wind up in the same state. However, by living my life in accord with Bible teaching I will have a much more stable and fullfilling life. I will not live it in accord to my daily changing moods and impluses. Living life that way is chaotic. However, If my believe is right and thre is a God who rewards the faithful with heaven and the unbelievers and unfaithful with Hell, then consider our end at death. I will have gainded an eternity of peace, joy, bless, etc. and what will you have gained. I think the answer is obvious. You choose to gamble with what happens after death. I choose to not gamble. It would seem that my belief is a win-win situation. I win in this life and in the life hereafter. I believe your belief (faith) is a fatal one. Even if you are right, mine is a winner. I will have lost nothing because of my belief. You will have lost all because of your belief. If you miss heaven, as revealed in the Bible, then you have missed it all. How sad!
