Hi Mike, they are selling new PCs locally for $399, with Intel Pentium 266 MMX Celeron, 64 bit video card w/ 1MB-3D, 32 MB SDRAM, 2.1 gig hard drive, 1.44 floppy, 24x CD-ROM, 80 watt speakers, tower case, 56 K fax/modem with voice, $399! Add a 14" .28 monitor for $99.
For $799, same configuration, but Pentium II 333 MMX, 4.3 gig HD and 15" monitor!
OK, so it's not Dell, Gateway or Compaq, it's a local company, but, I just am amazed.
To me, this is the REAL "new paradigm." I can't think of anything more wonderful. I remember when I bought my first computer, a Packard Bell 80286, think it cost about $2,000 - $2,500, with 40 MB hard drive and DOS, back in 1991!
Just think about it, won't be long until people all over the world can access the internet via satellite and wireless, with unprecedented access to tools, to medicine, to music, to art, to science, and we'll live to see it.
This market correction is a just a little blip compared to that, right?
(Sorry, been cooped up too long, the percocets must be goin to my head.) |
