well Michelle, I've never known anyone in elementary school, jr. high, high school, college, or ever known anyone otherwise who was allergic to peanuts. My brother though had an extreme allergic reaction to pistachio nuts though. He had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but he did recover completely. I dunno, I guess pistachios will have to be banned in all public places too.

I imagine everyone has known someone who at one time or another had a scary allergic reaction to something. Some people can die from a bee sting.

But the parallel here, and I'm sorry to bring politics back into it, is this: So society makes rules. Like no peanut butter in school. Or no lying under oath.
Justice: what is it? Something like divining the facts, judging those facts under the laws of the land, deciding guilty or not guilty, and handing down punishment. Lying under oath thwarts the goals of Justice. But similar to what you said about P&J parents, "This is a very serious matter for the 5% of the court cases that have this problem (probably only 1% of that 5% have this degree of seriousness). So, if you have a couple of these perjurers in your trial, you kinda have a problem do you not? So, the judges tell all the people - NO LYING UNDER OATH IN COURT - but of course youve got one or two obnoxious people that think this is some kind of joke and go and lie in court so they can terrorize these other people."

You see what I mean? On the one hand you've got kids who are eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches being made into terrorists just for liking P&J sandwiches, and on the other hand people are saying awe, let him off, he dinna mean nuttin bad by it, leave 'im alone. Sorta like some people are saying about that Clinton feller.
