Thank you for the kind words.
But a few corrections or amendments to your post. You may have implied that I think I am smarter than anyone else here. Such is not the case. I admire the time, effort, and intellectual achievement it takes to be a Doctor (Sheila R.). I recognize the expertise one such as Reseller has regarding the nuts and bolts of computers. I dare not try and question Ben A.'s technical chart reading skills. There are obviously some very smart and talented people posting here at SI. But Einstein himself was often wrong about certain things too.
Also, I do not fly away when the IOM stock price rises. Long-timers here can testify in regards to that. When IOM was rising to the high $20's, low $30's, I congratulated some here on their profits, but also warned those still holding that this could not last. The shaky fundamentals of Iomega would catch up sooner or later. However, when Iomega displays a proper earnings potential, an innovative product(s), and earnings instead of losses, I may sink some money in IOM on the long side. I have before, and made a little money. But I have made so much more shorting IOM.
IT is true that no one can really accurately predict the future. However, as I have with IOM up until now, I can predict what will happen based on past history, current known facts, future assumptions, and WAGs. It is a combination of all of these that leads me to believe that IOM will be in the $2's by early next year. Castlewood Orb is shipping right now, and Sony/Teac/Fuji HiFi will ship also. These two competitors will be some of the main reasons why IOM is headed lower than it is right now.
And I might add, that in hindsight, my predictions regarding IOM's stock price have been too optimistic. But I wish everyone here the best of luck in the Market, and in IOM. I have never laughed at anyone's misfortune in the IOM cellar. |
