LT,
I pulled the trigger a little early today and covered my Tuesday short of DELL and CISCO this morning, prior to the big drop. With INDU and NASDAQ closing near lows, I definitely should have shorted again at end of day. Hopefully there will be a window in a.m. during first half hour of trading to reestablish a position.
I was wondering why you even bother posting to the folks on this thread??? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your level headed and realistic comments, but it just seems that your wasting your time trying to talk any sense into these guys. As I've said before, this thread is suffering from two and one-half years of too much cheer leading and appears to be losing sight of reality. I think DELL is a great company, definitely the most efficient and prosperous in its limited scope, but I also remember the 1995 downturn in PC business. No company can weather a slow down in the economy, especially in an industry that grows at 15% per year, tops.
BTW, too all, the reason IBM won the $2 Billion contract with Boeing is because they have much more to offer than "boxes". In fact, I'd be surprised if they are even going to provide any boxes. IBMs foothold is in service, which just so happens to be a recurring revenue base, not just a one time sale. Only in DELLs dreams. Why do you think Compaq bought Digital?? They are looking beyond the simple "box".
