I don't think William was saying they should be ignored, I think he was just explaining the reasons behind the revisions. Anyway, accounting only matters in bear markets---not bull markets.

Same goes for short-selling. Japan didn't seem to care about short sellers when it was on the way up to Nikkei 40,000. Governments that restrict free markets are foolish. It just scares the good money away, because people like free markets, long and short. I'm not sure if they are proposing a ban on short-selling for their markets in addition to other Asian markets, but it appears to be headed that way.
