Ziff-Davis Integrates International
Operations to Better Serve Customers
Worldwide

PR Newswire - October 01, 1998 07:22

Aymar De Lencquesaing Takes International Helm as EVP,
International

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff-Davis (NYSE: ZD),
the leading integrated media and marketing company focused on
computing and Internet-related technology, today announced the
restructuring of its vast international group. To respond to the changing
global marketplace and to better serve its customers, the international
group has integrated its media platforms-following the company's U.S.
model. Leading this integration process is Aymar De Lencquesaing,
Executive Vice President (EVP), International. A well-respected
Ziff-Davis executive, De Lencquesaing takes on this role after several
years as vice president and then executive vice president of ZD Expos,
now SOFTBANK Forums.

"Aymar is exactly the person to successfully bring Ziff-Davis into the
forefront of the international market," said Eric Hippeau, Chairman and
CEO of Ziff-Davis. "We publish, co-publish, and license more than 60
publications outside the U.S., produce more than 30 tradeshows and
conferences outside North America, and distribute localized versions
of ZDNet in more than a dozen countries around the world. With strong
leadership to handle the integration of all these international platforms,
we'll be in a much better position to leverage existing resources,
partners, and infrastructures while enhancing customer service and
media solutions."

The global structure will continue to be an integral part of Ziff-Davis
and is not a separate division. All international activity will report to
De Lencquesaing who in turn reports to the presidents of the three
major Ziff-Davis divisions: print, Internet, and events.

"The unification of the international businesses, coupled with the
strength of the integrated U.S. structure, will make Ziff-Davis a truly
global company -- one that is able to offer a complete media solution,
the world round," said Aymar De Lencquesaing, EVP, International.
"This will give us the added resources and reach we need to serve our
customers on a worldwide basis."

With more than fifteen years of experience in the high-tech industry, De
Lencquesaing began his career with a variety of management, sales, and
marketing positions in the IT industry. Prior to joining Ziff-Davis, he
held such titles as vice president of Tandon Corporation and president
of PC Brand. In 1993, De Lencquesaing joined Ziff-Davis as president
of Seybold Seminars. He then served as senior vice president of ZD
Expos before being made executive vice president, International for
SOFTBANK Forums in 1995. In 1998, he was named COO,
International for ZD Events.
