Well, all things considering, that's not too shabby for Mr. DIVaXed!
I guess I should not be too harsh. Looks like they lost round I but
may have a shot for some success in round II (Oct. - Dec.). What
they correctly did was lower the cost of the players (even if they
were "forced" to). By matching the average price of DVD players
now one can argue they are getting the DIVX capabilities for free -
though I may argue who wants to buy a Zenith (RCA maybe) when
a Sony is available (at more outlets). Still think it is a tad late
and it will be a niche but the expansion of outlets gives them a
shot. The other thing is that you could it is not available worldwide
is it in places like China etc (Canada excluded) (I'm just assuming here that Circuit City is not all over the world or Good Guys. Plus
they need those phone line connections!) So does this mean 20,000
DVD stores worldwide vs. 1,100 for DIVX?
