SUMMA ACQUIRES CANYON MOLD ASSETS
TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Summa Industries (Nasdaq: SUMX)
announced that it acquired substantially all of the assets of Canyon Mold,
Inc., a Southern California manufacturer of tools for injection molding,
for approximately $200,000 in cash and assumed liabilities. The assets
have been relocated to one of Summa's
facilities and all of the skilled toolmakers at Canyon have been employed
by Summa. The acquisition of Canyon, which had done work almost exclusively
for Summa, is expected to reduce the time to market for new irrigation
components. It will not have a material impact on sales or profit.
